Dr. Jardine’s is a leader in technology development, with a focus on applications in alternative energy, actuator systems, and medicine. With over 25 years of experience in Shape Memory Alloys device design, 5 patents, and over 60 technical papers on Shape Memory Effect related projects, Dr. Jardine has demonstrated numerous products in SMA actuators that led to novel product integrations in concepts across medical, alternative energy, and electronic product systems.

Dr. Jardine is the President of Shape Change Technologies. His efforts at this company led to their integration into thin film TiNi into pediatric heart valves, infant feeding appliances, nitinol foam orthopedic devices, heat engines, and fast TiNi foam actuators. Other concepts he demonstrated include vacuum shutters and fluid pumps. Dr. Jardine also developed synthesis techniques for thin film materials and for TiNi porous materials from elemental powder compaction.
